About Us
We’re 3 Detroit girls that started out sharing the trials and tribulations of college and engineering, ultimately brought together by NSBE at Wayne State University. We’re pursuing careers in Industrial, Software, and Electrical Engineering and overall just trying to takeover the world! Right now each of us is trying to live our best life and help others do the same whether it’s Kayla sharing her journey and resources to being debt free with The Melanated Budget, Jeseekia teaching coding and helping people get into software development, or Alanna leading the 2 along with the rest of her team as she plans the upcoming 2019 NSBE Annual Convention for a group of 15,000.
Alanna Tremble-Winfrey

Alanna is an Industrial Engineer working in utility services. She is currently pursuing her MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship (for fun) and human resources (for strategy). She has a strong interest and knack for advancing her knowledge in the financial literacy world, with a steep goal to retire from the corporate world by 35. Alanna is a master event planner, with experience in events and conferences. She’s an advocate for self-reflection and breaking generational curses.
Jeseekia Vaughn
PInky AND The Brain
Jeseekia is a Software Engineer in the automotive industry. After the financial struggle got way too real, she took a chance on furthering her career outside of the university. Now she helps others get into software development without computer science or engineering degrees through teaching, curriculum development, and co-founded trainX.ai. As a gamer through and through she streams on twitch.tv/metadevgirl and started a YouTube channel to explore her creativity and sarcastic humor with others. She’s known for throwing out random, outrageous plans and following through in record time. Survey says she’s most likely to take over the world unless there’s something else she decides is more interesting.
Kayla Jordan
Thicky with a wiggy. Short. Hot-headed. Loves to eat.
Kayla is an Electrical Engineer working for the audio industry, which is why she stays crooning. She is currently pursuing her MBA because she thought Engineering didn’t beat her ass enough. She’s the creator/writer for The Melanated Budget and NSBE die-hard because they already took her soul. She just wants to help Black women understand that they’re the shit.
